Event to feature 'Helping Heroes'

PONDERAY — Petco’s “Meet a Helping Hero” meet-and-greet this Saturday will feature Canine Companions for Independence.

Local CCI puppy raiser, Lilly Mitsui, who also started the Inland Northwest chapter of the organization, will be at Petco with her newest charge, Tilley, sharing information about CCI, puppy raising and more.

CCI is a nonprofit organization that provides trained assistance dogs, at no cost, to people with disabilities. Saturday’s event will help the Petco Foundation raise awareness and funds to support these “Helping Heroes.”

The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Petco, 300 Bonner Mall Way, Ponderay.
