OLDTOWN — An Oregon man staying Bonner County has been arrested on three outstanding felony warrants alleging sexual abuse of a minor in Oregon.

Charles Garayalde was arrested on Tuesday after sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of disorderly conduct on Rena Road. A landowner told deputies Garayalde they were allowing him to stay on the property temporarily due to his legal troubles in Curry County, Ore., according to a Bonner County sheriff’s deputy’s report. Garayalde reportedly got into an altercation with the landowner’s wife about the molestation allegations.

Garayalde, 80, was arrested on the warrants and made an initial appearance in Bonner County Magistrate Court via videoconferencing with the Bonner County Jail on Wednesday. Judge Tera Harden ordered him held without bail while awaiting transfer back to Oregon.

If convicted of the charges, Garayalde faces up to 20 years in prison on each count, according to court documents.
