Swim wins three events against tough competition in Moscow

MOSCOW — Sandpoint swim claimed three event victories and a handful of runner up finishes during a meet at the University of Idaho on Saturday.
The Bulldogs competed against Lake City, Moscow, Lewiston, Post Falls, Bonners Ferry and Wallace.
Sandpoint won the first race of the meet as juniors Kaya Wright, Kate Bokowy and Autumn Morgan and senior Mikayla Schoening guided the girls 200 medley relay team to a victory.
Morgan also claimed the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:06.19 and Schoening grabbed the 100 freestyle.
The boys 200 medley relay team of sophomores Jack Grzincic, Aidan Nielsen and Hayden Leavitt and junior Jake Aitken placed second behind Moscow.
Leavitt also finished second in the 200 free and Grzincic took runner-up in the 100 back.
The Bulldogs return to the pool for the final time during the regular season this Saturday at Idaho Falls.
“We are looking forward to our next meet in Idaho Falls,” Sandpoint swim head coach Greg Jackson said in an email. “It will be fun to see how we match up with some of the other top 4A teams from the state.”
