1. I led the second annexation into the city of Dover, and I feel a particular obligation to all of the electorate to see that their interests and concerns are addressed and protected by orderly process.

2. My employment background has been in larger city and state governments as well as in the legal field. With my background and experience, my goal would be to provide insight, reasoning and guidance into how city government is meant to function for the benefit of all residents.

3. In the past 20-plus years since the last annexation, this city has failed to provide for all its taxpayers. This ship needs to be righted. Special interest has taken too much precedent over the rights of individual residents.

4. Review all concerns brought to council’s attention, whether past or present, to ensure compliance with state and federal statute; and correct any deviance from same.

5. Providing example to future council on the proper function of city government. Our community is unique, as are all surrounding communities, and together they offer a complete picture which makes living in our world novel and one to be envied. We need to find common purpose and cooperation to resolve any issues, pre-existing or which may arise, that threatens our peaceful co-existence and one in which individual community rights have been given the utmost respect and consideration.

6. Challenging, yet satisfying having been given the opportunity to address the concerns of the people in our community.

7. Resolution of disagreements through proper consideration of contractual agreements and state statute adherence.

8. Prior struggles with city government as a private citizen in this community. I will defend to the end my rights as a landowner, which have been given to me by the federal and state constitutions; and, will not accept the abridgment of any of those rights by government officials.

9. The participation in the works of government by all citizens is required to preserve rights; not, dependence on government to protect your rights. When one has a legal or moral stance, all emotional aspects of that particular issue must be put aside to ensure the rights of those directly affected aren’t ignored or misplaced but, instead, protected to the greatest extent possible.

10. Are you committed to following the rule of law and protecting the rights of the citizens of your community to the best of your ability? Strictly.
