Mike Davis
1. I have watched from the sidelines for many years how government works and found it very interesting. After I retired I thought there might be something I could contribute to help.
2. I bring many years of executive management experience in big business. I believe that experience and knowledge can be applied to running a city government.
3. I think the most important issue facing the city of Dover is the rapid growth. This effects all of our resources, including but not limited to, our water, sewer and planning. If this is not managed properly, we could face a lot more serious issues going forward.
4. I plan to work very closely with the Planning and Zoning Department and the Dover Urban Renewal Agency to ensure the interests of Dover’s citizens are both considered and protected.
5. If elected I would hope that when I left office people would remember me as a good listener and that I did everything to make Dover a wonderful place to live.
6. As mayor I see my typical workday consisting of managing the administrative responsibilities and more importantly responding to the citizens. I also plan to do as much research as possible on the issues coming to the city council so I can make an informed decision.
7. Having never held public office I look forward to learning the differences of running a city versus a business.
8. The biggest criticisms I’ve had while campaigning is that I’m not a native Idahoan. My response is that I didn’t come here to change things. I came here because I love the beauty of the outdoors and the people. I will do my best not to change that.
9. I hope the voters look to me as supporting them and working very hard to protect their wonder life here in Dover.
10. I think every candidate should be asked how they intend to manage the growth issues and the associated problems that come with it.
