Election Day nears
SANDPOINT — The Nov. 5 election is just around the corner, the Bonner County Clerk’s Office is reminding voters.
In this upcoming election, Lake Pend Oreille School District No. 84 will hold an election for trustee Zone 4. West Bonner County School District will hold an election for trustee zones 1 and 3, and Lakeland Joint School District No. 272 will hold an election for trustee zones 1 and 2.
The Lake Pend Oreille School District will be asking the voters of their district to authorize an indefinite term supplemental levy. The city of Ponderay, meanwhile, will be asking the voters to approve a local option non-property tax.
There will also be municipal candidates running in the cities of Clark Fork, Sandpoint, Ponderay, Dover, Kootenai, Oldtown, Priest River, East Hope and Hope.
Finally, the Bayview Water & Sewer District will be holding a recall election for two board members.
Registered voters residing within these taxing districts will be eligible to vote in the Nov. 5 election.

In-person Absentee voting is underway and will run through Friday, Nov. 1, in the county’s Elections Office, located in the first floor of the Bonner County Administration Building, 1500 U.S. Highway 2, Suite 124. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The Elections Office will be publicly testing its ballot counting equipment on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 1 p.m. in the administration building first-floor conference room.
Election Day voting will be at voters’ usual polling place. As always, Idaho allows Election Day registration.
If you are not registered to vote, you may register and vote at your polling place on Election Day. Make sure to bring photo identification and proof of residence to register. Polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
