Groups partner on firewood help

| October 25, 2019 1:00 AM

SANDPOINT — The Rotary Club of Sandpoint’s Community Service Committee is partnering with Firewood Rescue, a nonprofit dedicated to match those in need with wood donors, volunteers and equipment to provide an initial heat source before the snow arrives.

After providing the initial heat source, Firewood Rescue continues to offer help until the resources are gone. Those in need include elderly shut-ins, and people with disabilities, medical or financial crises.

The nonprofit is currently looking for people in need, as well as drivers trucks and trailers and a wood splitter, or funds to help purchase one. They are also looking for gas money donations for the volunteers who deliver the wood.

Anyone who would like to help or donate can contact any of the following organizers: Paul Krames at 208-255-9272 or krames60@gmail.com; Donna or John Lorenz at 208-265-7877 or hawaiianeagle@gmail.com; Christine Curless at 208-597-4954 or chriscoopersmom@gmail.com; or Eric Donenfeld at 208-290-2760 or ericdonenfeld@hotmail.com.
