Oct. 27, 1969 – RECEIVED TV SET

Mrs. Robert Green, Selle, won a color television set from John Nelson, Nelson TV and Appliance, during the recent Quasar Days celebration.

SOME PEOPLE HAVE ALL THE LUCK

Last Thursday was one of those days for Mr. and Mrs. Chester Van Stone of Hope and Jack Murray of Sandpoint. The three of them, fishing in the Clark Fork River, boated a total of 95 pounds of fish for the day. Mrs. Van Stone caught a 14 lb. Dolly Varden and a 7 lb. Kamloops; Van Stone had the day’s big fish, a 31 lb. Kamloops; and Jack Murray landed 25 lb. and 18 lb. Kamloops.

MRS. O’MEARA VISITS HOMELAND

Mrs. Brian O’Meara recently made her first visit in 16 years to her native home in south France. She left Sept. 10 by plane, returning Oct. 12.

Mrs. O’Meara travelled with her father by train and bus to Provence in the Marseilles area. She also visited Switzerland. “That is my other second home,” she said. “I just love the mountains and lakes. It is why I love Sandpoint, because it is so much like Switzerland.”

ROSENBERGER JOINS S&T STAFF

Norman Rosenberger has become associated with S&T, Inc. as a licensed salesman handling all types of real estate. A resident of the area for three years, Rosenberger lives at Kootenai.

Oct. 27, 1919 – INSTRUCTOR ARRIVES

Miss Gale, a nurse graduated from the Deaconess hospital of Spokane, has arrived to take up work of instruction in home hygiene which is provided to the public by the Bonner-Boundary chapter of the American Red Cross.

High school classes will be given Monday and Wednesday afternoons, while other classes will be taught the essential of home hygiene at evening sessions twice a week at Red Cross headquarters on Second avenue between Main and Cedar streets. Classes will also be taught at Sagle, Colburn and Dover.

McKINNON SALE SUCCESSFUL

The auction sale of stock and machinery at the McKinnon ranch on Pack River last Saturday was successful in that every article offered for sale was disposed of at a good price. Approximately 150 buyers were present from all over the county.

SANDPOINT GIRL IN AIRPLANE

Monday Miss Hedvig Pearson, deputy county assessor, who was visiting with her father, Ole Pearson, in Spokane, made a short airplane flight from the aviation field at Parkwater. The ascent was made with Lieut. Barnard, the elevation reached was 1100 feet and the time of the flight was between 12 and 15 minutes.
