Local news? There's an app for that
SANDPOINT — Want local news? There’s now an app for that.
Daily Bee staff are proud to announce a new way to connect readers to local and breaking news: the Bonner County Daily Bee news app, now available in the Apple Store and the Google Play (Android) Store.
“I am so excited to add another strong news asset to our growing portfolio,” Regional Publisher Clint Schroeder said. “Our intention is to meet readers with the content they seek, in the most convenient way possible.”
The app’s introduction comes after months of hard work to develop an app that gives readers the local news they want in a format that is user friendly and gives them a chance to personalize their news experience and customize their homepage to quickly find the stories they want to read, Schroeder said.
“We’re excited to bring an app that gives our readers an easy, accessible way to get the latest local news, weather, sports and more,” Managing Editor Caroline Lobsinger said. “It’s another way for our readers to keep up with all the local news they care about, delivered to their iOS and Android devices.”
The app allows readers not only the chance to keep up with the news on the go but also receive alerts when breaking news happens as well as share their news and photos with us from wherever they are, whenever they want to, with just a few clicks on their phone or tablet.
“One of the most exciting features of this app is the reader submission option, which allows readers to submit tips, comments and photos directly to our news team. When you see something newsworthy, you can share it with The Daily Bee in real time,” Lobsinger said.
