Vote yes on LPOSD levy proposal
Just last spring Bonner County residents were pondering how it is still possible we are asked to vote on the future of our schools every two years. With the levy supporting so much in the Lake Pend Oreille School District we must graciously take on the responsibility to keep our rural schools open, offer decent jobs to our community members, and keep extracurriculars accessible to a generation who needs them more than ever.
As tax payers and property owners, even renters whose rental bills essentially pay for the owner’s property taxes, it is time for us all to end the “if” of our school district’s budget and shift our sights on the “where” of the school district budget. Let’s start putting the energy of passing our levies into restructuring how the money is spent and not if we have the money to spend. Please vote yes on a permanent levy for Lake Pend Oreille School District on Nov. 5.
