IFRW announces scholarship winners

On behalf of the Idaho Federation of Republican Women, the following women were selected to receive the 2019 Idaho Federation of Republican Women Scholarship in the amount of $500 to be applied to college expenses.

These excellent recipients each bring special qualities to this award, and the Idaho Federation of Republican Women is honored to provide these scholarships.

Those selected were Jamie Rich, North Idaho Federated Republican Women; Allyson King, Southern Idaho Republican Women; Brett Behrend, Bonneville County Republican Women; Madison Burrell, Southeast Idaho Republican Women; and Priscilla Hibbert, Southeast Idaho Republican Women.

GFU announces dean’s list honors

NEWBERG, ORE. — Local students were among those who earned dean’s list recognition at George Fox University for the spring 2019 semester. Traditional undergraduate students must earn a 3.5 grade point average or above on 12 or more hours of graded work to earn a spot on the dean’s list.

The following students received recognition:

Anna Alsager, Sagle, senior, cinema and media communication; Cody Knight, Sagle, senior, management; and Laney Search, Sagle, junior, biology.

More than 4,000 students attend classes on the university’s campus in Newberg, Ore., and at teaching centers in Portland, Salem and Redmond, Ore. George Fox offers bachelor’s degrees in more than 40 majors, degree-completion programs for working adults, six seminary degrees, and 13 master’s and doctoral degrees.

Whitworth students qualify for honor roll

SPOKANE — The following students were named to the Whitworth University provost’s honor roll for spring semester 2019.

Lauren Sfeir of Sandpoint qualified for the academic honor society by maintaining a grade-point average of at least 3.75 during the semester.

Located in Spokane, Wash., Whitworth is a private liberal arts university affiliated with the Presbyterian church. The university, which has an enrollment of more than 3,000 students, offers more than 100 undergraduate and graduate degree programs.

UM students earn dean’s list honors

At the University of Montana, a number of area students are among the 2,427 students who made the spring semester 2019 dean’s list or president’s 4.0 list. To qualify, students must be undergraduates, earn a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher and receive grades of A or B in at least nine credits. Students who receive any grade of C+ or below or no credit in a course are not eligible.

The following students made UM’s spring semester 2019 dean’s list or the president’s 4.0 List. Double asterisks after a name indicate the student earned a 4.0 GPA. A single asterisk indicates a GPA greater than 3.5 but less than 4.0.

McPherson details academic honors

McPherson College, a four-year private college located in central Kansas, recognizes its highest academic achievers in its spring 2019 honor roll and honorable mention. Among those earning a spot on the list is Theodore Flint, a freshman from Sagle, who was named to the honor roll.

To qualify for the honor roll, students must be a full-time student and earn a grade point average of 3.55 or higher during the previous term. Students earning a grade point average of 3.25 to 3.54 are named to the honorable mention.

McPherson College offers more than 20 bachelor’s and pre-professional programs with curriculum that emphasizes entrepreneurship and career-focused education.
