Blanchard fire evacuation meeting set

BLANCHARD — A meeting is being held Monday, Sept.9, to gather input about evacuating livestock and other animals in the event of a fire. The meeting is being held at 7 p.m. at the Blanchard Grange

Russ Spriggs, a member of Bonner County’s Community Emergency Response Team, has invited Bob Howard, Bonner County’s director of Bonner County Emergency Management, to the grange meeting. Howard will be working with CERT, INWPREP, Blanchard Grange members and all neighbors in the Blanchard area to formulate a local communications plan as well as develop resources for transporting, evacuating and housing pets and livestock in an emergency.

Everyone is encouraged to attend.

The meeting is to gather resources from community members in the county, including Blanchard. Organizers will be gathering names and contact information of people who can house and transport evacuated pets and livestock
