Meulenberg to receive excellence in teaching award

Daniel Meulenberg, M.D has received the 2019 WRITE Excellence in Teaching Award for Idaho from WWAMI, the medical school partnership that trains the next generation of Idaho physicians.

WRITE is a clinical immersion program that aims to end the rural physician shortage in the Northwest. This award aims to recognize and honor preceptors with a track record of excellence in teaching medical students, as well as those that serve as a leader in their community.

Dr. Meulenberg is a practicing family medicine physician in Sandpoint, ID at the Sandpoint Family Health Center. He is affiliated with Bonner General Hospital. He graduated from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine in 1990.

He completed his residency at the Family Medicine Residency of Idaho. Dr. Meulenberg serves as the Clerkship Director for the Sandpoint WRITE/TRUST site.

Dr. Meulenberg and award recipients from the other WWAMI states will be honored at the upcoming WRITE Faculty Development Conference from Thursday, Sept. 12 through Friday, Sept. 13 in Seattle.
