WIRT hosting fifth 'Panhandle Paddle'

Wild Idaho Rising Tide is inviting the region’s residents to participate in the Panhandle Paddle activities this weekend, Sept. 6-8.

The group is calling for rail line community resistance to Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway’s proposed bridge and track expansion across Lake Pend Oreille, Sand Creek, and downtown Sandpoint,

On Friday, the #No2ndBridge Talk will be held from 6-8 p.m. at the Gardenia Center, 400 Church St., Sandpoint. On Saturday, direct action training will take place from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Gardenia Center.

On Sunday, rallies and the Panhandle Paddle will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at City Beach and Dog Beach.
