Forest Beutel to perform in Sandpoint tonight

Forest Beutel, Americana blues one-man band, is performing tonight in Sandpoint at Utara Brewing, 214 Pine St.

Beutel emerges from the deep dense forest of the Olympic Peninsula in Washington state, called forth by Hank Williams and Tom Waits. He plays the bass drum and hi-hat with his feet, the banjo and guitar with his hands, and sings and plays the harmonica (with his mouth of course). The banjo rings, the bluebird sings, and Forest Beutel hollers with the moonshine.

Beutel is pioneering the Americana Blues genre. He draws influences from roots music across the U.S. to play a variety of originals and covers from uptempo bluegrass songs to down tempo delta blues. Beutel’s performances are dynamic and lively. He croons, he growls, he barks, and he howls - one must experience his live show.

Forest began his journey as a professional musician in Rhode Island over a decade ago, drumming in nationally touring bands.

After moving across the country to Tacoma, Washington, Forest picked up the banjo and became a regional favorite as the frontman of several bluegrass bands including Barleywine Revue and the Rusty Cleavers.

Forest has been an active one-man band for over five years, with two solo albums leaving listeners awestruck at the meeting of dynamic lyricism and raw musicianship.
