Harold Glen Rainey Sr., 71

Harold Glen Rainey Sr., 71, went to sleep in Jesus on Friday, Aug. 30, 2019, at his home in Sagle, Idaho after being diagnosed with bone cancer. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2019, from 3-5 p.m. at the Lakeview Funeral Home.

Memorial services will be held at noon on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019, at the Lakeview Funeral Home with Pastor Alvaro Sauza of the Sandpoint Seventh-day Adventist Church officiating. Private burial will take place at the Pack River Cemetery.

Harold was born on April 6, 1948, in Paradise, Calif., to Raymond and Margaret Rainey. He grew up in Fillmore and Oxnard, Calif., graduating from Hueneme High School. Harold served in the United States Army and was station at Fort Ord, Calif.

Harold married Yvette Fountaine on December 10, 1971 in Ventura, Calif. They moved to Idaho in January 1976 and Harold worked for Lyle Morris Excavation in Hayden Lake for 5 years and then for Coca Cola in Spokane for 16 years. He owned his own shop, Mechanic’s Plus, in Ponderay for 15 years. After he sold the shop he went to work for Mark Johnson Excavation in Sand-point until he retired in 2016.

Har-old loved classic cars, and he built several hot rods. He also enjoyed camping with his family, singing in the church choir and serving as an elder at the Sandpoint Seventh-day Adventist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Yvette Rainey of Sagle; three sons, Harold Glen and wife Tina Rainey Jr. of Sandpoint, Rick Pyle of Hayden Lake, and Jonathan Rainey of Sagle; a brother, Guy Alan and wife Kathy Rainey of Clarkston, Wash.; his mother, Margaret Rainey of Sandpoint; a sister, Cynthia Hopkins of Sandpoint; his sister-in-law, Yvonne Fontaine of Sandpoint; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Harold Rainey; and nephew, Clay Hopkins.
