| September 18, 2019 1:00 AM

Today we mourn the passing of Tamera Sue (Tam) Evans Wescott, 58, at her home in Seattle, Washington, surrounded by family and friends. She fought a valiant year-long battle with cancer. She was a wonderful woman who was loved, cherished and will always be missed.

Our “Tam”, as she liked to be called by her family and friends, was a loving wife, amazing mother, daughter, sister and a fabulous nurse.

Born March 13, 1961, in San Diego, California, Tam was the second child of Beth and Milford Evans. She spent her young life in Dover, Idaho, riding horses, skiing at Schweitzer, trying to keep up with her older sister Marlene and helping with her younger siblings Tom, Brett and Myra. She moved to Seattle in 1986 to explore life with her sister Marlene. Tam enrolled in a Nursing RN program at the Univer-sity of Washington and went on to specialize as a lactation consultant nurse.

She had many successful years helping young nursing mothers. Everyone knew that when Tam entered their hospital room everything would work out. Hundreds of mothers and babies thrived under her care.

Sandpoint is where she met the love of her life, Steven Wescott. They had a lifelong romance and were married at Bayview on September 10, 1988. Tam and Steven were blessed with two children, Nolan and Kella, both born and reared in Seattle. She often said that with her husband she knew true love, and with her children she had pure love. Her children were her heart and soul.

Tam loved the outdoors, especially running, cycling and skiing. She and her sister Marlene trained and competed in several marathons in Sandpoint and Seattle. She and Steven loved staying at the condo at Schweitzer Mountain Resort with their family and friends.

Tam is survived by her husband, Steven; her children, Nolan and Kella; her parents, Beth and Milford Evans; her in-laws, Velma and Gary Wescott; sisters Marlene Dosher (Jonathan Barksdale), Myra Evans Darty, spouse Ron (Nicole & Charlie), and Jeremy (Hillary); brothers Tom, Brett Evans (Kristy) (Emma and MaKenna; and all her many relatives and friends.

Tamara was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jesse and Roy Gilbert; uncles Roger Gilbert (Arlene), Jesse Edwin Critchell, Kenneth Gilbert and aunts Mary Widener and May Bell Goloversic.

In lieu of flowers please help with expenses for Tamara’s celebration of life. Please send donations to Marlene Evans Dosher, Box 94, Dover ID 83825. Come celebrate Tam’s life, Saturday, September 28, 2019 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the DISH at Dover Bay, 651 Lakeshore Ave, Dover.
