The chorale will start rehearsals on Monday, Sept 23, to begin work on the winter concert. Music and CDs will be handed out. Please bring your black folders. Again, if there are experienced singers who wish to join, please show up for the rehearsal and we will test your vocal range and assess your ability. Reading music is not necessary for chorale members as rehearsal CDs will be provided, made possible from many hours of work by chorale member, Dr. Alan Ball. A commitment to knowing your part prior to the concert is necessary. Practices will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays every week starting October first. The choir will meet in the Seventh Day Adventist Junior Academy on Pine Street until further notice. The concerts are scheduled on December 13th and 15th at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Sandpoint.

On Sunday, Oct 13, the Pend Oreille Orchestra will meet from 2-4 p.m. As always, experienced string players, especially violins, are invited to audition. The auditions will commence at 1:30 p.m. in the sanctuary of the Gardenia Center located directly across from the post office on Church Street. Those who have already played with the orchestra need to be ready to rehearse from 2-4 p.m. in the same location. The full orchestra is requested. Individual parts will be handed out, and we will play through the pieces. There will be only five rehearsals before the dress rehearsal, so everyone is needed.

This winter the focus will be music geared to the Christmas season including a Christmas choral and orchestra piece, “In The Stillness, The Star” written by music director, Mark Reiner. If you have any questions please call directors, Mark or Caren Reiner, 208-290-2644
