Kedish presented Quilt of Valor

| September 27, 2019 1:00 AM

Friends and family gathered at the home of Lewis and Emma Kedish in Sandpoint last summer to present Lewis Elmer Kedish with a Quilt of Valor.

Kedish was a technical sergeant in the U.S. Army Airborne from 1940-’46.

The quilt was pieced and finished by former Sandpoint resident Kary Miller and was quilted by R. Gibbons. The get-together was planned by Nancy Piatt, who also presented Kedish with the quilt.

The Quilts of Valor Foundation’s mission is to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor. Since its founding, more than 189,000 quilts have been awarded to American veterans and military personnel.
