St. Joseph's hosting Blessing of the Animals

St. Joseph’s Catholic Church is hosting its annual Blessing of the Animals on Saturday, Oct. 5.

The community-wide outreach is ecumenical, fun and kid-friendly. Held annually right around the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, who was famous for his love of animals, the event will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5., at the church, 601 S. Lincoln Ave.

The outdoor event is brief, but very family-friendly. Everyone is invited to bring any pets they would like to have blessed. (There was even a horse one year.)

For everyone’s safety, please have your animals under control at all times!
