Person killed, another injured in Usk shooting
USK, Wash. — Pend Oreille County Sheriff’s officials are advising a person is dead following a Wednesday, April 1, shooting in Usk, Wash., just after 4 p.m.
Sheriff’s deputies, Washington State Patrol, Kalispel Tribal Police, and Newport Police responded after POCSO dispatch were alerted to a shooting involving three individuals at a residence in Usk. When law enforcement arrived on the scene, they found Tessa Lee Thomas, 31, fatally wounded with an apparent gunshot wound. Another female, whosse name was not released, had an apparent gunshot wound to the chest and was transported to Newport Hospital by Pend Oreille EMS.
Sheriff’s office officials said the injured woman was treated and medically released with a few hours before being questioned by invetigators
A search warrant was obtained and Washington State Patrol Crime Scene Investigators along with Pend Oreille County deputies processed the scene and a vehicle that was removed from the scene.
The names of the two other individuals have not been released due to it being ongoing, active investigation, officials said in a press release All parties involved have been cooperative and no arrests have been made.
Investigators continue to work on this ongoing, active case.
“The sheriff’s office asks for your patience as no further information will be released until the investigation is completed,” officials said.
All parties involved have been located and there is no threat to the public, officials added.
