April 19, 1970 — YODELING COYOTES

Sagle Yodeling Coyotes 4-H Club met at the home of Vice President Karen Spade, who called the meeting to order. President Loree Vaughn’s family is moving to Boise, so Karen will be the new president. Roy Oliver is horse project leader.

Two new members, Terry Porath and Tim Fort, attended. Marsha Oliver demonstrated making risotto; Janna Oliver, fluffy white cake frosting; Linda LaMarche, a main dish salad; Ginna Oliver, meringue pie topping; Karen Spade, Spanish rice.

IOOF-REBEKAH CARD PARTY

Winners at the IOOF-Lake Rebekah Lodge card party Saturday in the IOOF hall, were Mrs. Helen Grinolds, ladies’ high; Mrs. Flora Montague, 2nd high; George Strecker, men’s high; and James Heigh, 2nd high. Mrs. Zula McCurtain won the cake and Mrs. Marcia Johnson the door prize.

HOMEMAKERS CONVENTION

Nine Bonner County women attended the Northern Idaho District Homemakers Convention in Orofino last week: Mrs. Barbara Woolsey, president of the Bonner County Homemakers Council; Mrs. Geneva Meserve, secretary-treasurer of the local council; Mrs. Lou Hoffine, Mrs. Lucille Hudon, Mrs. Ruth Clark, Mrs. Art Hulquist, Mrs. Ruby Fredstrom and Miss Kathleen Farrell, extension home economics agent.

April 19, 1920 — CHURCH IMPROVEMENT

At a meeting of the Presbyterian church board and trustees Wednesday at the home of R.S. McCrea, arrangements were made to finance an addition to the church. Estimated at about $6,000, it will be to the rear of the present structure and will be used as a Sunday school room.

RUNAWAY BOYS OVERHAULED

George Keene, age 14, and Earl Riffle, age 13, who started out Saturday from Sandpoint on a runaway jaunt, were overhauled yesterday at Dorite, a railroad siding between Clarksfork and Cabinet, by Deputy Pickett.

WAGONS WAIT FOR CLOUD TO ROLL BY

The city wagons will not make their rounds for “clean-up week” until the weather is more settled.

GARAGE IS BEING IMPROVED

The Pend d’Oreille Motor Car company began another flock of improvements to its garage and show room on Cedar street. The big plate glass window east of the old entrance is being removed and a motor entrance built. The west side of the room will be latticed off as a display room and the front part now used as the office will be equipped to make a comfortable rest room for tourists. Also, a large washing rack is being constructed in the rear of the building and one man will be on permanent duty with hose, sponge and chamois.
