Apr. 26, 1970 – LINCOLN SCHOOL PTA
Honored at April’s Lincoln School PTA meeting were Miss Alta Young, retired third grade teacher; retired head cook Mrs. Helen Williams; and Mrs. Mabel Kinney, first grade teacher retiring this year. Officers were elected to serve next year: Mrs. Gary Pietsch, president; Gary Pietsch, vice president; Mrs. Steve Tillberg, secretary; and Mrs. Ron Bostock, treasurer.

HARPER CELEBRATES 10TH
George Harper is celebrating his 10th anniversary at Harper’s Saw Shop, off Boyer Ave., near the Dover highway. Harper, who opened a chain saw dealership 10 years ago in another location on the Dover highway, has been at the present address for eight years. He began with saws, but has since blossomed out into lawn movers, snow blowers, snowmobiles and small engine repair.

CEDAR POST STAFFERS WIN AWARDS
Three Sandpoint Senior High School Cedar Post staff members received awards at the recent Idaho high school journalism conference in Moscow. Sharon Bolstad took second place in news stories; Elaine Barney, third in sports; and Kathy Cranor, third in advertising layout. The Cedar Post was given an excellent rating and received third place in staff newswriting.

Apr. 26, 1920 – SPORTSMEN TO ORGANIZE
Under the gentle stimulus of the presence in the city of the State Game Warden, a dozen avid devotees of the rod and gun met at the Grill to form the core of a sportsmen’s group which it is hoped will include every hunter and fisherman in the county. Earl Farmin was chosen as temporary chairman. The membership committee includes Sheriff Spoor, Dr. Wendle, Dr. Guy and Attorney Martin, with Mr. Farmin an ex officio member.

ODEN-CULVER NEWS
The annual Oden school district election was held Monday at the North school house, with about 60 votes cast. Mrs. Helen Hawkins was elected trustee for three years and Harry Spangle trustee for two years. Mrs. Hawkins is clerk of the new school board and Matt Schmidt chairman.
The first meeting of the Oden union Sunday school was held, with about 30 present. Mrs. Arthur Shields gave an interesting talk on the lesson taken from the seventh chapter of Judges.
