Loyd I. Boyle, 91, passed away, in Sandpoint, on Friday, August 14, 2020.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, August 21, 2020, in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel. Pastor Jon Pomeroy, Sandpoint Church of God, will be officiating. Inurnment will be later in the Westmond Cemetery.

Loyd was born on April 8, 1929 in Hot Springs, South Dakota, the son of Aleckander and Stella Boyle. Her had lived in South Dakota and Spokane prior to moving to Sandpoint in 1941, graduating from Sandpoint High School in 1947. He married Loretta Parsons and they later divorced. He worked for the Pack River Lumber Co. until 1986 and then became a long-haul truck driver in the Western United States, retiring in 1991.

Loyd was a past president of the Sandpoint Eagles Lodge Arie #589, and had also served as the state president of the Eagle Lodge. He was a member of the ritual team for the lodge. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in the area and helping with 4 H county fair projects.

He is survived by 2 children Susan Loretta Larson and Daniel Joseph Boyle; step children Ninamae Pinsonneault, Philip and Rodney McGuire; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Loyd was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Josephine, his brother, 2 sisters, and two step sons Pat and Chuck McGuire.
