Sandpoint Volleyball Academy hosts pair of clinics Sunday

Sandpoint Volleyball Academy in conjunction with Mountain Side Volleyball Club has announced two upcoming clinics.

The first is a Serving and Passing Clinic designed for players who will be in high school this fall. The clinic will be held this Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at Farmin Stidwell Elementary School.

The clinic will focus on serving motion including the fundamentals of float, top spin, jump and short serving. Passing fundamentals will include eye focus, platform mechanics and footwork. Serve reception and down ball and free ball reception will all be covered.

The second clinic will follow from 4-6 p.m. This clinic is designed for players between the age of 8-13. Basic serving fundamentals including arm swing, hand-to-ball contact and footwork will be covered. Passing fundamentals including how to make a solid platform and how to effectively pass to a target will be taught as well.

The cost for both clinics is $20 and each clinic is limited to 12 players.
