Christopher Allen Smith, 19

Christopher Allen Smith, 19, passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, in Sandpoint, Idaho. 

A viewing will be held from noon to 4 p.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2020; and a funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 1 p.m., on Friday, December 4, 2020. Pastor Hollis Stewart will be officiating. The viewing and the funeral will be held at the Lakeview Funeral Home Chapel, 301 S. Olive Ave., Sandpoint.

Christopher was born on June 14, 2001, in Los Angeles, California, to Jeffery and Shannon Smith, the youngest child of five siblings. He grew up and attended elementary school in Fernley, Nevada. He then moved with his father and stepmother, Sherri, to Sandpoint in 2015. Christopher’s mother passed away when he was 14 years old.

Christopher was an avid reader and enjoyed the works of Erin Hunter’s Warrior series and R.A. Salvatore Dungeons and Dragons Forgotten Realm novels. He had aspirations of becoming an author like his father. When he wasn’t inside reading, playing Dungeons and Dragons, or Axis & Allies, he loved to be outside helping his dad with projects. He found comfort and peace in the fresh air, raking the yard or shoveling snow, making sure to get every last leaf or pile of snow. In the paths around the yard he enjoyed playing miniature golf. Christopher enjoyed animals, but his favorite animals were cats.

He is survived by his father, Jeffery Smith; his stepmother, Sherri Lang-Smith; grandparents, Kenneth (Carol) Smith, and Beverly (Mike) Mahoney; three brothers, Devin (Shaleya) Nelson, Stephen (Kiana) Smith, and Jeffery Smith Jr.; a sister, Brandy Nelson; and his nephew, Karsen Nelson.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Shannon Smith.
