Jesus is no fraud

We have seen the weirdest presidential election in history. Credible accusations of multiple modes of election fraud over a long period of time. Fraud, deceit, courts, lawyers, interviews, family arguments all a part of this unprecedented time in our nations history. The first real hint that something was different with this election cycle was the number of states who simply quit counting ballots late on election night. An open invitation for election fraud.

Just when I thought I had seen it all then came the game with the Steelers versus the Washington Football Team this past Monday afternoon. With 8 seconds left before half time and no time outs the Washingtons were having to rush to kick a three-point field goal.

Suddenly the clock stopped ticking. The rush came to an instant stand still. Someone took the ball off the field and there was nothing to kick. The clock was reset and the Washingtons had all the time they needed to kick a field goal and get the 3 extra points.

The worst part of it all, the Washingtons beat the undefeated Steelers by 3 points! Isn’t it ironic that the team of D.C. is the team of the stopped clock? lol!) I call fraud, unfair, cheaters! (If you hadn’t noticed I am a Steelers fan, however, I bear no ill will toward the Washingtons!) In all honestly we lost more due to dropped passes than a questionable field goal.

There is one event in history that was not fraudulent or questionable, the birth of Messiah Christ. Jesus was not a fraud but the fulfillment of multiple, complex, and detailed Old Testament prophecies. In the midst of all the frustrations Christians have the joy of knowing Jesus is the real deal and rightful Savior of the World.

Jesus was God in the flesh, He died on the cross to pay for our sins, He rose again as He promised, and we can know for certain that He is preparing a home for us in heaven where we will live with him for eternity. So don’t let the election turmoil (or the fraudulent three-pointer against the Steelers!) take away your joy this Christmas season.

Don’t be angry, bitter, and hateful against others regardless of the outcome. Remember our constant, true, trustworthy king is Jesus. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Isaiah 9:6 “For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Child is given, and the government shall be upon His shoulder. And His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Revelations 19:6; 19:16 “… and He shall reign for ever and ever.” “King of Kings and Lord of Lords.”
