Mountainside Volleyball Club of Sandpoint announces name change

| December 12, 2020 1:00 AM

As part of a major overhaul of it’s operation, Mountainside Volleyball Club of Sandpoint is changing it’s name back to North Idaho Volleyball Club.

The club welcomes and is hoping to attract players from all over Bonner and Boundary counties.

NIVBC will be working much more closely with Sandpoint High School in hopes of developing players who can return SHS to the elite level of past years.

Karen Alsager, Sandpoint High head volleyball coach, has joined the club as a board member and will also be assisting with the U14 team in the upcoming season.

Former North Idaho VBC Director and coach Jack Dyck has also rejoined the club as a board member and coaching director.

“Our goal is to train players to compete at a championship level," said Julia Klontz, the new club president. "As a board, we will work hard, be communicative, transparent and inclusive of community involvement.”
