POST FALLS — Clark Fork girls basketball doubled up the Post Falls C team on Wednesday night and ended a three-game losing streak.

The Lady Cats took down the Trojans 33-16.

Clark Fork jumped out to a 10-4 first quarter lead and were held scoreless in the second.

Head coach Jordan Adams said the Lady Cats had their strongest first quarter of the season, but still need to work on coming out of the gates faster.

"We are just a second half team," she said, "and I don't know what it is, but we are working through it."

The Lady Cats outscored the Trojans 16-2 in the fourth quarter to cruise to their second win of the year.

Katelyn Matteson led the way with 14 points and five steals. Paige Valliere had 9 points, Kellie Mace grabbed 3 points and five rebounds, Eloise Shelton tallied 2 points, four steals and three rebounds, and Lily Reuter hit a 3-pointer in the opening quarter.

Adams said she always enjoys playing the Post Falls C team because of the support both squads show each other.

"It's a really good matchup," she said. "It's probably the best sportsmanship game we play every year."

Clark Fork (2-3) will take on Priest River in the opening game of the Priest River Christmas Tournament at 3 p.m. Friday.
