FOL cancels January book sale

SANDPOINT — The Friends of the Library have announced the cancellation of the January book sale.

FOL members once again determined that the high incidence of COVID-19 would put both customers and volunteers at too high a risk if a sale were held.

While the book sales are important to the group, safety is a much higher consideration, FOL members said in a statement. As a result, the decision to hold the sales will be made on a month-to-month basis.

In the statement, FOL members said community service is important to the group, but added they feel they are also serving the community by cancelling the sale and urging everyone to wear a mask and observe social distancing.
