Search on for missing woman

NEWPORT — The Pend Oreille County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help in locating a woman who may have been missing for more than a month.

Officials put out the plea after receiving information indicating that Melinda Marie Lopez, 35, had not been seen or heard from in weeks.

Lopez has ties to Stevens County and authorities there are also seeking her whereabouts. Authorities in Pend Oreille County said Lopez may have been last seen in Newport in mid-November.

Lopez stands 5 feet 4 inches and weighs 130 pounds. She has brown hair and blue eyes.
