Should I stop speaking to Trump voters?

| December 27, 2020 1:00 AM

Should I stop speaking to Trump voters? Many people are asking that question.

For 12 years I listened to them pour out their hatred of Obama. I have listened to the UraniumOne nonsense, Obama is a Kenyan socialist, the Pizzagate nonsense, etc. We all know those and many other stories.

They have intentionally voted for chaos over leadership, then lied right to my face about it.

I have heard Trump's lies repeated endlessly from these people, from the wall to COVID-19 being a hoax to the insults aimed at Mexicans and other minorities to this insane claim of election fraud. I will no longer listen to or believe them about anything.

When I question them about Trump's 22,000 lies, the answer is a shrug and say "it does not matter," not caring that his is an indictment against their own character. They have acted and voted against their own best interests in every way.

I have seen the caravans of fanatical flag waving whose only purpose was to be abrasive and antagonistic. I have never once seen any of this behavior from Democrats.

I know people here who have not a single lightbulb in their house, no power, plywood over their windows, who have no insulation or drywall, who spend thousands on weapons and ammunition, certain civil war is coming because Trump told them to "stand by." They think they will soon be able to shoot people in the street.

Now tell me, why I should ever value the character, judgement, integrity or honesty of anyone like that?
