| February 1, 2020 1:00 AM

Jessica Lee Chapple, 54, passed away on December 22, 2019 in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1, from 1-4 p.m., at the Eagle’s Club, 1511 John Hudon Lane, in Sandpoint, Idaho

Jessica was born in Lake Placid, N.Y., on November 24 to Betty and John Chapple. She left our earthly cares to God’s golden shores for Christmas this year. She attended Saint Agnes Elementary School and her freshman year at Lake Placid High School.

In 1980, she moved to Homer, Alaska, with her parents joining her brother and sisters already living in the small coastal fishing town. She attended Homer High School her sophomore year then returned to Lake Placid and graduated from LPHS in 1983. She returned to Alaska to live and work in Homer and Anchorage and attend classes at the Univer-sity of Alaska, Anchor-age.

Jess-ica had a great sense of humor and her outgoing personality assured that she was loved by all who met and knew her. She also always said she was happy to have “grown up” in Lake Placid and Homer

Jessica met the father of her daughters, James Christy, in Homer. They moved to Seattle and were married in 1988. They decided they wanted to raise their family in Sandpoint and moved there in 1990 before their two daughters were born. Jessica was a loving mother and spent much of her time as a homemaker.

In 1999, she was charmed by the small town of Clark Fork, Idaho, and made it her home. Jessica was introduced to Clark Fork by Howard Kettenenring, and it was there they raised their son, Jeremiah.

She was a beloved character in town who was known for her kind heart, and you could count on a warm “hello” if you passed her on the street.

She was involved in her community as a member of the Homemakers Club, and often volunteered at the local senior center.

Jessica moved back Sandpoint in 2014 where she enjoyed gardening, and her morning glories became a well-known landmark on Pine Street. She made friends with all of her neighbors and often enjoyed get togethers on the shared lawn. Jessica continued to share her kindness with everyone she met, and she will be greatly missed by many in Sandpoint.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Betty Chapple; sister Victoria, and the father of her son, Howard Kettenring.

Jessica is survived by her daughter, Claire Christy of Sandpoint; her daughter and son-in-law, Leah and Trey Montgomery of Chewelah, Wash.; her son, Jeremiah Kettenring of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; her grandchildren, Kale and Harper Montgomery and Ellis Vandenhoutenl; her sister, Rebecca Sawyer of Lake Placid; her brother and sister-in-law, Bumper John Chapple III and Peggy of Homer, Alaska; her sister Alex Chapple of Homer, Alaska; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to sign Jessica’s online guest book at coffeltfuneral.com.

Arrangements are under the care of Coffelt Funeral Service of Sandpoint.
