Jan. 31 – Mr. and Mrs. William R. McDonald, Sandpoint, boy, 8 lb. 1 oz.; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Dawson, Clark Fork, girl, 5 lb. 5½ oz.

DEWEY - BELWOOD WEDDING VOWS

Diana Dewey, Sandpoint, and Ernest C. Belwood Jr., Laclede, were married Jan. 31 in Coeur d’Alene. His brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Chet Howell, Sandpoint, were their attendants. The bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Payne, held a reception that evening in their home for relatives and close friends of the couple.

NEW HOME AGENT HERE

Miss Kathleen A. Farrell is the new Bonner County home economist, replacing recently retired Miss Iva Burnstad. Miss Farrell was introduced to a number of local women Monday, her first day on the job. Originally from Boise, Miss Farrell has secured an apartment at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Walker.

JUNIOR HIGH NEWS by Paul Drinkwater

The teachers were very busy last week catching up on makeup work from the students and also getting their semester tests completed. All of this was due to the closure of school due to flu and bad weather for four days in the past two weeks.

Feb. 6, 1920 – HIGH SCHOOL NOTES

The senior dance has been postponed on account of the flu; also, the basket ball game.

The total enrollment of the Sandpoint high school at the present time is 260 pupils. Last year at the same time the enrollment was 183 pupils.

The Y.W.C.A. girls are thinking of conducting a “lost and found” department in the high school.

HARRY SEDAR’S CORNER SOLD

Peter Johnson this week purchased from the Inland Products company the building at the corner of First avenue and Main street occupied by Harry Sedars and formerly known as the John Murray building. Mr. Johnson announces that the building will be occupied by a new real estate company on the first of April.

NEWS FROM HOPE

Mrs. R.A. Lauderdale was called to Sandpoint on account of her son, Lawrence, having the flu. She remained to assist in nursing. If no other complications appear, he will get along all right.

The quarantine for smallpox and flu was put on tight Monday by the county commissioners and board of health closing the schools, churches, picture shows and lodges.

Apparently, the smallpox is under control. About seven families are under quarantine. Most of the cases are mild.
