SANDPOINT — Safety Day is coming to Sandpoint.

This one-day event, sponsored by Litehouse, Bonner General Health and Kinderhaven, will provide all the information parents need to keep their kids sleeping and riding safe. The event is planned for Saturday, Feb. 29, at BGH’s Health Services Building, 423 N. Third Ave., Suite 101, Sandpoint.

From 10-11 a.m., the event will feature “Safe Sleep 101,” a class for anyone caring for an infant. Participants will learn the ABCs of safe sleep, how to identify unsafe products and get all of their questions answered regarding sleep safety.

From noon to 2 p.m., a community car seat check will be held, giving parents and others a chance to make sure their car safety seats are installed correctly by nationally certified CPSTs.

Safe Start Northwest is a program of NISSA that provides infant and child health and safety educational programs, and parental support.

The event is free; however, registration is required. To register, to online to nwsids.org/safe-start or call 206-548-9290.
