Heath Gregory Scott Okon, 47, passed away peacefully at home in Sand-point, Idaho, on Tuesday, February 11, 2020, after a long, brave battle with synovial sarcoma.

Heath was born on August 29, 1972 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho to Ron and Vicki Okon. He graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1990. He married his best friend and love Diana John on April 10, 1993 in Coeur d’Alene. They had 2 sons, whom he treasured, Brycen born March of 1996 and Christian born August 2001.
Heath moved to Sandpoint at the age of 23 to open and manage Perfection Tire. He started with the company at age 16. He loved his job.
Heath loved spending time with his family. He had an appreciation for the outdoors, including, camping, hiking, fishing, boating, golfing, but most of all fly fishing. He had an enormous knowledge and passion for sports whether coaching, playing or watching. He especially loved the Pittsburgh Steelers.
He was a man of humility, self-sacrifice, honesty, strength of mind, compassion, love and just a touch of sarcasm.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years Diana Okon, their sons Brycen and Christian Okon; daughter in law Crystal Okon; parents Ron and Vicki Okon; father and mother n law; Jerry and Renate John; brothers Joe and Dustin Okon; brother and sister in law Andreas and Michelle John; nieces Taryn John, Morgan and Mallory Okon; nephews Kyler John, Payton and TJ Okon. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
