LPOSD: Ignorance of the law is no excuse

The Lake Pend Oreille School District ran a school levy ballot in November 2019 in violation of Idaho Statute (Title 34 Ch 4 Section 34-439A). They claimed the law was too new to comply. However, ignorance of the law is not a justification for violating it and, I think, a curious argument for someone in the business of education.

Nonetheless, the LPOSD knows they broke the law, but have decided to fight for the right to be wrong. That tells us a lot about our LPOSD school board and administrators, and I don’t think that’s good news for the citizens of Bonner County.
