SEASON’S BUILDING PROSPECTS GOOD

The prospects for a building boom in Sandpoint this spring are greater than any time in the past 7 or 8 years. While some of the proposed building is not yet assured, it is practically certain several substantial structures will materialize this season.

There should also be considerable residence building, as every available house is occupied and the demand for rentals exceeds the supply.

IS THIS THE TIME TO BUILD? By A.R. Derr

Now that we are adapted to the high cost of living and realize that the purchasing power of our dollar is less than 50 cents compared with pre-war times, everyone wants to know whether this is the right time to build and make improvements.

If there was any indication prices would drop, it might be advisable to delay, but in the economic history of the world, after every great war, prices stay high for years. We are in an era of good times and high prices that will remain for many years. The sooner we begin our building operations, the greater value we get for our money and the more prosperous our community.
