RATHDRUM — That’s right, five Spartans wrestlers will be heading to the 3A state championships this Friday and Saturday at the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa.

The wrestlers punched their tickets this past Saturday during districts at Lakeland High.

Freshman Hayden Sorbel led the way winning the 98-pound title by pinning his opponent in the championship match.

In order to clinch a spot to state, Priest River wrestlers had to place in the top three in their respective weight class at districts.

Sophomore Keith Poirier (second at 120), freshman Aidan Troumbley (third at 120), sophomore Bradley Bennett (third at 160) and senior Truxton Wilson (third at 195) also earned a trip to state.
