Bartoo, Kalispell Island boat-in campsites available for reservations

The Priest Lake Ranger District of the Idaho Panhandle National Forests have new reservation options now on Bartoo and Kalispell Island campsites on Priest Lake. Those reservations are available through recreation.gov and can be made up to six months in advance. Sites are available for camping from May 29 through Sept. 14, 2020.

Bartoo Island boat-in campsites can be reserved directly through the following link recreation.gov/ Bartoo Island . There are 25 sites on the island, and of those 16 are available to be reserved and the remaining nine sites are on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Additionally, Kalispell Island boat-in campsites can be reserved directly through the following link recreation.gov/ Kalispell Island . There are 52 sites on the island, and of those 31 can be reserved and the remaining 21 sites are on a walk-in basis.

“This is an exciting opportunity to balance the requests from the public to provide boat-in reservations for summer vacation planning while still having opportunities for walk in traffic,” said Josh Jurgensen, recreation manager.

The Forest Service is working closely with recreation.gov to provide GPS coordinates for each campsite, and it is advised to please check back often for updated maps in the coming weeks. Visitors are advised to check the Idaho Panhandle National Forests website for specific information or contact the Priest Lake Ranger District directly at 208-443-2512.
