| February 29, 2020 1:00 AM

Eldon Ronald Threadgill, 83, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2019, at his home in Cocolalla, Idaho.

A rosary for Ron will be said at 7 p.m., Friday, March 6, 2020, in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 7, 2020, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Dennis C. Day officiating.

Ron was born in Amarillo, Texas, on September 15, 1936, the son of Loy and Aroline Threadgill. He was raised in Amarillo with his brother Roger and sister Sharon until the family moved to Mon-rovia, Cali-fornia, in 1947. He attended Clifton Jr. High and graduated from Mon-rovia High School. After some city college he became an apprentice in the meat packing business. This eventually led to his job as a meat manager with Ralphs Grocery Company in Southern California. After years in the grocery business he retired and moved to Cocolalla, Idaho, with his wife Carolyn.

He attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Sandpoint and was a member of The Knights of Columbus.

He was kind and outgoing and always ready to lend a hand or help out. He loved a wholesome good joke and shared many throughout his life with friends and family. His happy nature was not only noticeable, but catching. Once when asked how he kept such a happy outlook on life he said, “every morning when I get up and look in the mirror, I say hello to Jesus and thank him for being my best friend.”

This wonderful loving man is greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Carolyn; his children, David and Susie, Jeff and Becky, Linda and Denise, Julie and Stephen, Tom and Shari, and Laura; his grandchildren, Drew, Holly, Elizabeth, Amanda, Melody, Joey, Johnathon, David, Violette, Caralina, Asa, Bethany, Lily Anne, Haden, Peter, and Emmett; and his great-grandchildren, Arie and Austin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Loy and Aroline; brother Roger; sister Sharon; daughter Susan, wife Lois; and granddaughter Grace
