WBCSD names top employees

| January 1, 2020 12:00 AM

A pair of West Bonner County School District employees have been honored by the school district as its top employees for December.

The monthly award is part of a program to support and recognize outstanding employees. Employees — both certified and classified — who exemplify its district vision – “strive for greatness” — are nominated for the award. Each month, one certified employee and one classified employee are selected to be recognized by the public and are presented with awards donated by area businesses.

WBCSD officials announced that the district’s classified employee of the month is Deila Thompson. Thompson, who has been with the district for over six years, is a speech technician.

Thompson was nominated by a supervisor who applauded the speech technicians for always being willing to jump in and help.

“Deila is known for promoting our district in a positive light,” district officials said in a press release announcing the award. “Thank you, Deila.”

WBCSD officials also announced Dallys Myrvang as the district’s certified employee of the month.

Myrvang, a kindergarten teacher at Idaho Hill Elementary, has been with the district for four years. She was nominated by a colleague who said Myrvang’s students follow their teacher’s example of being kind and respectful. “Her colleagues know her as an incredible teacher,” district officials said in the press release. “Thank you Dallys!”

District officials offered a special thanks to Gateway Financial for providing gifts for the employees.
