SANDPOINT — You will be seeing a few new names in the Daily Bee this upcoming legislative session as three McClure Center interns are reporting for duty in January.

Inspired by Senator McClure’s legacy, the University of Idaho’s James A. and Louise McClure Center for Public Policy Research conducts nonpartisan research, informs public dialogue and policy, and engages students in learning about public policy making. Each year, students from the center cover the Idaho Legislature for newspapers around the state.

This year, three students have been selected. The trio are Logan Finney of Sandpoint, Madison Hardy of Boise and Riley Haun of Homedale.

• Logan Finney

Logan Finney is a Sandpoint native with a passion for media production and community building. He grew up hiking, skiing and hunting in the forests of North Idaho and has maintained a lifelong interest in the state’s history, geography and politics.

He is a third-generation Vandal who will graduate from the University of Idaho in May 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in broadcasting and digital media.
