Caralis, Nelsen both place 4th

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Seniors Brady Nelsen and Isaiah Caralis each placed fourth at the Pacific Northwest Classic at University High School this weekend.
The duo were the only Sandpoint wrestlers to medal at the event as the Bulldogs placed 14th out of the 17 teams that competed.
Nelsen captured fourth at 145 pounds after winning his first two matches before losing by technical fall in the semifinals. He then won his consolation semifinal bout 6-2 over Freeman’s Josh Werner before falling in the third place match.
Caralis was pinned in his opening match at 152 pounds and then reeled off four straight victories. He then lost by majority decision in the third place match to capture fourth.
Sandpoint wrestling returns to action 5 p.m. tonight when they head to Libby.
