BONNERS FERRY — For as long as he can remember, Dave Parker, owner of Northern Air and manager of the Boundary County Airport, has loved to fly.

His love of aviation dates back to buy his first 5-cent airplane on the way home from first grade. When he turned 18, Parker earned his private pilot license through a Boy Scout Explorer post. By age 21, he had earned his commercial, instrument, and certified flight instructor ratings.

In addition, Parker also has built his own airplane and the 230 mph Glassair sport plane was the 50th aircraft of its type to be built in the world. He learned aerobatics in the plane and demonstrated it at air shows throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Parker, who has over 10,000 hours flying with over 3,500 hours of flight instruction in many different aircraft, enjoys giving flight lessons, tracking wildlife, improving aircraft, and “meeting all the neat people that make up the field of aviation,” he said on his website.

Parker holds certification in commercial pilot airplot (single- and multi-engine instrument); is a certified flight instructor (single-engine aircraft and instrument) is a certified ground instructor (advanced instrument) and is an airframe and powerplant mechanic with inspection authorization.
