Live & Learn classes are announced

| January 8, 2020 12:00 AM

Two Live & Learn programs are on the schedule for early January.

On Thursday, Jan. 9 at 5:30 p.m., the community is invited to join local historian and rendezvous participant Shaun Deller for an evening of fur trade history and tales of exploration in Pend Oreille and Bonner counties. The program offers a chance to learn about cartographer David Thompson’s explorations, his interactions with native groups and experiences as a fur trader, said Katie Crill of West Bonner Library District.

This living history presentation is open to all ages.

On Saturday, Jan. 11, at 11 a.m. artist Lynn Walters will teach a class on using alcohol inks. The program is a chance to create a one-of-a-kind ceramic tile using inks specially formulated to create a colorful, polished stone effect. There is a $5 materials fee for this class and registration is required.

Both Live & Learn programs will be held at the Priest River Library, 118 Main St.

For more information or to register for the alcohol ink class, call the library at 208-448-2207 or email library@westbonnerlibrary.org. Follow library programs and events at http://westbonner.lili.org.
