District spelling bee date nears

SANDPOINT — Local students will put their spelling abilities to the test on Tuesday, Jan. 21, during the district-wide spelling bee.

The Lake Pend Oreille School District’s annual spelling bee will include students from the fourth through sixth grades who will compete at Sandpoint High School for the chance to move on to the next level. Winners of the local competition will have the chance to compete at the North Idaho Regional Spelling Bee at North Idaho College on March 16.

The local competition will begin at 5 p.m. Jan. 21 in the Sandpoint High School auditorium, 410 South Division Ave.
