Weather report

The winds were calm the day after the region was struck by powerful winds. The sun broke out briefly Monday as a prelude to another storm that blanketed the area with five inches of new snow. Gale force wind gusting up to 70 miles an hour knocked out power in scattered outages throughout the region, Northern Lights customers at Priest Lake among them.

Douglas Klein, Ag instructor, and Lornell Wittmeier, math teacher, are conducting classes in Vocational Agriculture and Wood Shop. The uncommon feature is that only girls are allowed to participate. The unusual amount of interest shown by the girls to learn about these fields is the reason the two teachers gave up their free period in order to conduct the classes.

Wed in Spokane

Mrs. Kreszence Kramer and Edwin Johanson slipped off to Spokane Thursday and quietly joined in the bonds of matrimony. She is known to all the residents of this county and especially those of Priest River, as she was one of the first settlers in this locality, coming here at a time when wild animals and Indians were plentiful but white people and the signs of advancing civilization were few and far between. She settled here more than 30 years ago.
