City seeks survey input
SANDPOINT — The city’s latest survey is live, with this week’s topic being housing and neighborhoods.
This is the fourth in a series of weekly surveys that Sandpoint began releasing last month, and responses being used to inform the Sandpoint Comprehensive Plan update.
The Comprehensive Plan is a 20-year vision that is by and for the community, city officials said in a press release. The city initiated the effort last year to update the plan, which has not been overhauled since 2009.
Each survey in the series is launched on a Sunday and closes the following Saturday at 11:59 p.m. Results from each of the prior surveys are also available publicly on a weekly basis.
City officials thanked the 64 people who have responded to the housing survey as of Thursday afternoon, as well as all those who filled out the previous surveys.
“Community input is critical to informing our master planning efforts,” said Sandpoint Mayor Shelby Rognstad. “It will help us establish priorities in our plans, projects and future budgets. It also provides information to developers and prospective developers about needs and desires beyond just watching market trends.”
The surveys are available online through the city’s website at sandpointidaho.gov/engage. They are also available on the city’s Facebook page and through the Engage Sandpoint mobile app, which can be downloaded to any mobile device through Google Play or the Apple app store.
Community members may also come into City Hall for staff assistance in completing a survey.
Remaining surveys include:
- Jan. 12 — Housing and Neighborhoods (live until Saturday at 11:59 p.m.)
- Jan. 19 — Community Character & Design
- Jan. 26 — Growth and Land Use
- Feb 2 – Natural Resources
