Ronald Dale Keenan, 92

Ronald Dale Keenan, 92, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2020, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Private family services have been held.

Ron was born to Patrick and Goldie Keenan on Feb. 6, 1927, in Fairbury, Neb. He was raised by his grandparents Pat and Lulu Keenan. Ron served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and during the Korean War.

Ron married Judy Criswell on Sept. 24, 1966, in Reno, Nev. He worked at Alexan-der’s Department Store in Springfield, Ore, then as office manager of Monroe Office Machines in Asotin, Wash. He moved to Sandpoint in 1980 and sold office supplies for the Inkwell for 33 years.

Ron was a volksmarcher, logging more than 5,000 miles. He was also recognized for donating more than 10 gallons of blood through the blood bank. He was a member of the B.P.O. Elks, where he enjoyed golfing. He ran Bloomsday for 19 years. He also enjoyed fishing and riding bikes.

Ron is survived by his wife, Judy Keenan of Sandpoint; two sons, Kevin (Michelle) Keenan of Sagle, and Mark Keenan (Angie Mouser) of Moyie Springs; and three granddaughters, Shannia, Kendra, and Asiah Keenan. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Pat Webb and his brother Jerry Keenan.
